I Still Have So Much To Learn!

After being diagnosed with cancer someone told me that I needed to go learn everything I possibly could about the disease, especially colon cancer.  I thought šŸ¤” about that for several days and it just didn’t sit well with me but I did start researching.  After I had finally healed from my surgery and could catch my breath, I thought about it again and it FINALLY dawned on me (I’m a slow learner sometimes 🫢🤣)….I didn’t need to learn everything I could about cancer, I already knew everything I needed to know about it….Cancer = BAD šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼!  Plus…the experts have been learning about it longer than I’ve been alive and look how far they’ve gotten 🫣😬🤭

What I needed to learn was everything I could about the human body’s capabilities in regard to healing itselfšŸ’”!  THAT is what made sense and THAT is what I needed to learn.  Learning everything I possibly could about this is what became my driving force and what led me to the holistic healing journey that I’ve been on for the last 7+ months.

When I was first getting started I knew I would never be able to do it alone.  Nope, I wasn’t strong enough, mentally or physically (at the time).  We had been led back to Jesus through an introduction to Andrew Wommack/Berry Bennett (I talked about this in a previous blog) but I needed a renewed relationship with Him. I needed a REAL relationship with Him….not a surface “I’m a Christian” relationship but one where  I commune with Him throughout the day, every day.  So that’s what I did!  I trusted that He would lead me to whatever I needed or away from the things I didn’t.  So I started there and He led us to Chris Wark/Chris Beat Cancer.

The Chris Beat Cancer program has led me to other people in the holistic world; practitioners and survivors.  These people have led me down a million different rabbit šŸ‡ holes šŸ•³️.  From the power of carrots šŸ„• and garlic šŸ§„ to the dark and disturbing world of parasites 🦠 and worms 🪱 😱….there is seriously more to come about that but right now I’m still trying to wrap my head around it all 🤯

I have really, really, really immersed myself in the natural healing world.  The topic is expansive but sadly information can be difficult to find and/or understand.  The information posted or shared is often taken down or removed because it goes against “community standards”….I’ll let you guess who decides what info is acceptable and what isn’t šŸ˜.  As a matter of fact my latest blog (the one prior to this) was removed for that very reason šŸ˜’ and I was only celebrating my first clear colonoscopy post diagnosis šŸ¤·šŸ¼‍♀️šŸ¤¦šŸ¼‍♀️ (i highlighted that because I’m still celebrating 🄳).  Anyway, there is so much evidence out there that our bodies were designed by our creator to heal, we just have to flood them with nutrient dense foods šŸ„•šŸ„¦šŸ„—šŸ…šŸ„¬šŸ§„ and cut out all the garbage šŸšŸŖšŸ§šŸ¬šŸ«.  It really is that simple…but it’s also hard work AND a commitment…a BIG commitment!!  Mindset is definitely important, maybe the most important part.

If you have a cancer diagnosis (or any disease) choosing your healing method is an important choice and 100% YOUR choice!!  Don’t be bullied or scared into doing anything you don’t want to do.  Ask questions, lots and lots of questions.  You have time!

We didn’t know what questions to ask right away so I started chemo out of fear.  If you choose conventional medicine you should still (in my opinion) flood your body with nutrient dense food to support your body’s systems while the medicine does its job.  Some drugs have very harsh side effects that you may be able to control or avoid (to an extent) by a clean diet and exercise.

Anyway, it is often in the darkest days and most difficult of circumstances that we discover our own strength.  I know I did!! Thankfully I decided fairly early in my journey to stop magnifying cancer and start magnifying the answer ✝️šŸ™šŸ¼

If you are reading this and are on your own healing journey I hope you are also open to do some research about your body’s capabilities.  It’s astonishing what we can heal from.  I’ve listened to hours and hours of testimonies from survivors who were far worse off than I was who beat cancer (or other diseases) and have been cancer free for years or even decades.  Sadly, doctors who share about holistic care are often silenced by their profession.  If you’re interested here are a few to dive into….Dr. Lorraine Day, Dr. Max Gerson, Dr. Jenn Simmons, Dr. Perry Nickelston, Dr. Dean Orish, Dr. Ryan Cole, and Dr. James Loomis.

I still learn new things every single day and I still have LOTS more to learn.  This topic isn’t talked about in the doctor office, at least not mine.  It’s broad and expansive….and sometimes overwhelming but I’m confident that I choose the right path for me.

That’s all for now, thanks for reading.

I’ll close this post with a verse about everything we need being supplied to us by God.

Ezekiel 47:12 (NKJV)

“Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.”

Until next time….keep joy in your mind and in your hear!

Much love and many blessings,

Ali

Two Years Later: The Day Everything Changed — From Fear to Freedom

Yellowstone Lake May 2025   Two years later....my journey is my inspiration❣️ In the early hours of July 11, 2023—my 50th birthday—Keith took me to the ER. We didn’t know it then, but that day marked the beginning of a journey that would change everything. What we thought was a precautionary trip turned into a 10-day hospital stay, two emergency surgeries, and ultimately, the cancer diagnosis we never saw coming. It felt like the ground shifted beneath us—fast and without warning. That moment shook us to the core. But it also became the turning point. It led to one of the hardest and most personal decisions I’ve ever had to make: to decline chemotherapy. That choice didn’t come lightly—it came through tears, prayer, research, and a surrender I can’t quite explain. I opened my heart to God’s way of healing, and in doing so, found a peace that made no earthly sense but felt entirely divine. It’s hard to believe it’s been two years now since life threw us that curveball—a health scar...

From Blog to Book: Why I’m Sharing the Whole Story

For nearly two years, I’ve poured my heart into this blog—sharing pieces of my healing journey, my faith walk, and the unexpected turns that have shaped my life since being diagnosed with colon cancer. What started as a way to process and connect has grown into something much deeper: a calling to share the full story. So, I’m writing a book. This isn’t just a collection of blog posts. It’s a deeply personal, faith-rooted memoir that weaves together the physical, emotional, and spiritual layers of healing I’ve experienced. From chemo chairs to carrot juice, raw grief to relentless hope, the book will walk readers through the valleys and mountaintops of this path—from diagnosis to divine detours and everything in between. Why write a book? Because stories matter. Putting myself out there has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Every time I share a piece of my heart, I feel that familiar ache of vulnerability—like I’m standing open-handed before the world, unsure how my s...

Remission, Rough Roads and Sweet Reminders šŸ’«šŸ©·

Yesterday we officially hit the road again! We pulled out of Las Vegas, pointed the rig east, and started our journey toward Tennessee — our winter destination and new workamping adventure at Ober Mountain in Gatlinburg. Before leaving Vegas, we stopped to visit family and squeeze in a little medical maintenance. I had blood work and a doctor appointment, and by all accounts, I’m still in  remission ! šŸ™ŒšŸ¼ Of course, I still prefer the word  healed … but you know. šŸ˜‰ God is good —  all the time. We were also blessed to make it to church while we were there, and it was exactly what our hearts needed — a beautiful time to get refueled, refocused, and filled up before hitting the road again. šŸ•Š️ We left Las Vegas bright and early yesterday morning—our first stop: Winslow, Arizona. (No, unfortunately, we didn’t stand on the corner. šŸ˜‰) Let’s just say our “landing” into Winslow wasn’t exactly smooth… in fact, it was a rough landing — literally and figuratively. When we opened ...
