Merry Christmas!

Luke 2:11 (NKJV)

For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord

I have so much to be thankful for this year.  I give all of my love and glory to Jesus every day but especially today, on His birthday!  He poured His blessings over me this year, He was true and faithful and never abandoned me.  I was shown first hand that all of God’s promises truly are “Yes” and “Amen” (2 Corinthians 1:20)

At the start of this year I was just finishing up the first 90 days of my holistic healing program.  I was determined to beat the cancer and I had it set in my heart to do it holistically.  With God’s strength and His grace I was motivated and determined to stay on course.  I was thankful to be over that first 90 day hurdle but I was still facing so much uncertainty. I kept myself centered and focused on the goal….I kept my mind on Christ and He showed me the way!  Every decision or change I made was done so with prayer and with confidence.  I surrendered and let Him lead the way, I was simply being obedient and following His way.

He sent my Christmas gift early….May 20th to be exact!  NO! EVIDENCE! OF! DISEASE!  I did it!  I beat cancer!!  Stage 3b cancer didn’t stand a chance against me and the greatest physician of all time, God almighty, ourJehovah Rapha!

My complete healing and our full surrender to God’s will for our lives led Keith and I to our current and newest adventure.  If you’re reading this then you likely know that we bought a new truck, a travel trailer and we sold our house.  We are wrapping up the sale of the business and we officially have a departure date…March 11, 2025.  We’ll be pulling out of Las Vegas and we’re heading off to the CA/AZ border for a 2 week vacation on the Colorado River.  At the end of those two weeks we’ll start making our way to the Jackson Hole WY area where we’ll be parked and workamping for 6 months.  We’ll be documenting our journey and adventures on the “Grateful Nomads” YouTube channel/FB and IG pages (links below if you’d like to join in)

Although cancer has been defeated I still have work to do; mind, body and spirit.  Throughout my journey I’ve learned to honor myself with more “time off” and time for self care, I realize I’m far more effective, present, and powerful when I give myself these simple gifts. This holiday season I hope all of you take time to nourish your soul, rest your body and mind, take time to feel and process emotions, do things that make you smile and bring you joy, decompress, rejuvenate, and enjoy this gift of life….because it truly is a gift!

Life ... the eternal adventure and greatest gift!

In closing, I pray you all have a beautiful holiday season and remember to nurture the light that lives within you. When we shine our light we bring hope and beauty where there’s been difficulty and darkness. Let’s finish this year by shining brightly and spreading love abundantly!

Merry Christmas, as you continue to celebrate with your friends and family please remember the reason for the season 🕊️✝️🙏🏼.

Luke 2:10 (NKJV)

Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

Until next time….keep joy in your mind and in your heart!

Much love and many blessings,

Ali

Two Years Later: The Day Everything Changed — From Fear to Freedom

Yellowstone Lake May 2025   Two years later....my journey is my inspiration❣️ In the early hours of July 11, 2023—my 50th birthday—Keith took me to the ER. We didn’t know it then, but that day marked the beginning of a journey that would change everything. What we thought was a precautionary trip turned into a 10-day hospital stay, two emergency surgeries, and ultimately, the cancer diagnosis we never saw coming. It felt like the ground shifted beneath us—fast and without warning. That moment shook us to the core. But it also became the turning point. It led to one of the hardest and most personal decisions I’ve ever had to make: to decline chemotherapy. That choice didn’t come lightly—it came through tears, prayer, research, and a surrender I can’t quite explain. I opened my heart to God’s way of healing, and in doing so, found a peace that made no earthly sense but felt entirely divine. It’s hard to believe it’s been two years now since life threw us that curveball—a health scar...

Ain’t Life Grand….living life on the right side of cancer đź’•

Greetings from beautiful Wyoming! Hidden Falls - Jenny Lake / Grand Teton National Park  A quick update before I get into it - I moved all my blogs to a new platform and it’s so much better now (at least for me).  Please let me know your thoughts, I appreciate your feedback đź©·.  Ok, here we go!!  Some of you may be following along on our journey via facebook but for those of you who aren’t, here’s a quick update.   We kicked off our nomadic journey on March 11, 2025 (after living full-time in the RV since September 2024) and this has quite literally been the best thing we have ever done.    Keith and I keep asking each other why we didn’t do this sooner.    It all comes back to - it just wasn’t our time yet.    But here we are now and we are absolutely living our best life!  Workamping is a real thing - real companies do in fact hire people who live full-time in their RV for seasonal work.    We landed an awesome job ...

From Blog to Book: Why I’m Sharing the Whole Story

For nearly two years, I’ve poured my heart into this blog—sharing pieces of my healing journey, my faith walk, and the unexpected turns that have shaped my life since being diagnosed with colon cancer. What started as a way to process and connect has grown into something much deeper: a calling to share the full story. So, I’m writing a book. This isn’t just a collection of blog posts. It’s a deeply personal, faith-rooted memoir that weaves together the physical, emotional, and spiritual layers of healing I’ve experienced. From chemo chairs to carrot juice, raw grief to relentless hope, the book will walk readers through the valleys and mountaintops of this path—from diagnosis to divine detours and everything in between. Why write a book? Because stories matter. Putting myself out there has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Every time I share a piece of my heart, I feel that familiar ache of vulnerability—like I’m standing open-handed before the world, unsure how my s...
