Ain’t Life Grand….living life on the right side of cancer 💕

Greetings from beautiful Wyoming!

Hidden Falls - Jenny Lake / Grand Teton National Park

A quick update before I get into it - I moved all my blogs to a new platform and it’s so much better now (at least for me). Please let me know your thoughts, I appreciate your feedback 🩷.

Ok, here we go!!

Some of you may be following along on our journey via facebook but for those of you who aren’t, here’s a quick update.

We kicked off our nomadic journey on March 11, 2025 (after living full-time in the RV since September 2024) and this has quite literally been the best thing we have ever done.  Keith and I keep asking each other why we didn’t do this sooner.  It all comes back to - it just wasn’t our time yet.  But here we are now and we are absolutely living our best life!

Workamping is a real thing - real companies do in fact hire people who live full-time in their RV for seasonal work.  We landed an awesome job with amazing people in WY, where the Teton Mountains are literally in our backyard…or is it our front yard?!? 🤔   Grand Teton National Park is minutes down the road, Jackson Hole is a beautiful 40 minute drive and Yellowstone is right next door!! So much beauty to see and experience.

The job itself is easy - stress free and rent free!  Yep, we live on property for free and they still pay us an hourly wage.  It’s totally a win - win!! The biggest bonus - the people we are working alongside are absolutely AMAZING❣️.  In my “Grateful Nomads” blog post (Oct 2024) I mentioned “a beloved community of friends we have yet to meet”. When I wrote that I didn’t realize how much truth that little statement would have 🥰. I believe these are people we will call friends for the rest of our lives!

If you’re not already, I encourage you to follow our journey on one of our social media platforms, I’ll link them below!

Now, on to my health update!

One year ago today my oncologist moved me from “active cancer” status into “remission” (we use the word healed in our house)…..just 7 months and 19 days after I began my lifesaving holistic journey.  Over the course of that time I had 15 blood tests, a colonoscopy and a CT scan of chest/abdomen/pelvis - ALL CLEAR!  He looked through my test and scans while scratching his head, clearly in a state of confusion.  You see, according to him, I should have been dead last May or at least close to it.  I certainly should not have been thriving and making leap and bound improvements.

In September 2023 when I told him I was quitting chemo after just 2 rounds (because it nearly killed me) he said it was my choice and that he understood but the cancer would likely kill me within 6 months to a year.  I made it clear to him that I wasn’t giving up, I was merely going to heal myself God’s way.  So on October 1, 2023 I made major radical dietary and lifestyle changes so I could save my life.  He followed my journey, he ordered my blood test and scans.  He was rooting for me but his medical training didn’t allow him to fully believe my body was capable of healing itself. After just 10 days my first blood test showed major improvements….and from there I just kept getting better and better!

The improvements were many and I was getting my life back on track!  On May 20, 2024 he said to Keith and I “I can’t really explain this but you are showing NED” (no evidence of disease).  THIS is what I was striving for❗️THIS is how I plan to stay‼️ I’ve had many blood tests and a scan since then (my next is in June) and I’m happy to report everything is great.

My diagnosis in 2023 shook us.  It rocked our whole world.  I had to make a serious decision - did I want to live or did I want to die?  I choose life!!! This ultimately laid the groundwork for the lifestyle changes Keith and I made.  My diagnosis was a BIG reminder that we have ZERO guarantees in life and we truly should live life to the fullest every single day….so that’s what we’re doing, we encourage you to do that too!

Our dark days are behind us now.  I will not go back to the old me and her old ways but I do give myself grace - this way of healing is a marathon not a sprint and I’m only about 2 miles into my run!

Here are some things I’ve learned so far throughout my journey:

✨On the other side of your fear is courage. On the other side of your pain is freedom.  Make the decision to push through your fear and grab and hold onto your freedom!

✨Within each of us there is an enormous power and ability to overcome any challenges or obstacles that appear in our lives. Often we don't recognize our own potential.

✨If we tap into the strength and courage within us, we are able to move beyond fear and suffering and initiate changes that can transform our lives. It is through this process that we can manifest our own empowerment and success.

✨Every hardship holds a lesson. Every moment of pain offers an opportunity to make a change. We hold the keys and we have the power to choose. We can stay stuck in our problems and pain or we can face whatever challenges we have, create solutions and initiate positive changes.

✨Sunny days and RV living has me smiling and feeling grateful every single day!

✨The simple things in life are often the greatest blessings - good weather, beautiful scenery, laughter, love, music … and a few buffalo and magpies to brighten the day 😉

✨If we offer up appreciation and gratitude, accompanied with intention and clear vision of what we want, we create energy that can magnetize a new path forward or a new outcome that aligns with our desire.

✨We are as powerful and influential as we allow ourselves to be. If we believe in our ability to manifest change and make things happen in our lives, we can do just that. It is typically our doubts and limiting thoughts that hold us back.  We can’t do it in our own strength but God will lead us if we let Him.

✨Whatever it is you are wanting to see happen in your life, trust that it’s possible. Believe in yourself. Believe in the dream. See it, feel it, speak it, and keep doing that until it becomes your reality.

That’s all for now!  Thanks for your continued love, prayers and support.  The messages I receive fill my heart with so much love 💕

I’ll close with a verse that God has been putting on my heart as I began reflecting on this past year.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Until next time…..keep joy in your mind and in your heart!

Much love and many blessings,

Ali

One year ago today I started the life saving journey that I never imagined I would be going on.  I made what some might consider crazy radical changes, but I did it because I wanted to live.  Now here we are, one year later, making more radical life changes.  Sometimes life brings in twists and turns that take us in a completely different direction.  It happened to Keith and I last year (with my cancer diagnosis) and it’s happening again with our latest adventures.  If you haven’t heard yet, we sold our house and basically everything in it.  We bought a new truck and a RV and we’re hitting the road, living full time in the RV.  We went from a 1600 sq ft house to a 32 ft travel trailer…talk about radical changes 😳🤣 2024 Grand Design Imagine - Our new home! Here are a few things I’ve learned so far over the past year and especially these past few months.  We don’t always see these twists and turns coming but they always cause us to leave behind on...

Merry Christmas!

Luke 2:11 (NKJV) For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord I have so much to be thankful for this year.  I give all of my love and glory to Jesus every day but especially today, on His birthday!  He poured His blessings over me this year, He was true and faithful and never abandoned me.  I was shown first hand that all of God’s promises truly are “Yes” and “Amen” (2 Corinthians 1:20) At the start of this year I was just finishing up the first 90 days of my holistic healing program.  I was determined to beat the cancer and I had it set in my heart to do it holistically.  With God’s strength and His grace I was motivated and determined to stay on course.  I was thankful to be over that first 90 day hurdle but I was still facing so much uncertainty. I kept myself centered and focused on the goal….I kept my mind on Christ and He showed me the way!  Every decision or change I made was done so with prayer and wit...
