That’s a Wrap!

Our front yard for the past 6 months

Today marked the end of our very first workamping season!!
We’ve had the incredible opportunity to call  Teton Cabins our home for the last 6 months.  What an unforgettable journey it’s been. When we pulled into Moran, WY on April 21st, we were two newbies stepping into a brand-new chapter — ready to learn, explore, and trust that God had placed us here for a reason. Looking back now, it’s incredible to see just how much this place has shaped us. As the months unfolded, so did countless blessings: breathtaking hikes beneath the Tetons, crisp mountain mornings, and friendships that quickly began to feel like family.

“People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime”
The friendships we built are for life 💕

From the moment we arrived, the Grand Tetons surrounded us with beauty and peace that words can hardly capture. Every hike, every sunrise, every quiet evening reminded us that we were exactly where we were meant to be. One of our favorite memories was a last-minute decision to hike Paintbrush Canyon. What started as a spontaneous adventure turned into an unforgettable one — especially when we found ourselves trudging through boulder fields and over water crossings!  We took in the views, and even FaceTimed our parents from the highest point we could reach before the trail disappeared under two feet of snow….at the end of June!  Moments like that — unexpected, challenging, and breathtaking — are the ones we’ll treasure forever.

There were so many “firsts” this season, too. On my birthday, we saddled up for an amazing horseback ride with the majestic Tetons rising in the distance. It felt like something out of a dream — just us, the horses, the wide-open meadows, and God’s glory painted across the sky. And not long after, we got to experience our very first rodeo in Dubois with our new friends. Between cheering on the riders, laughing until our sides hurt, and soaking in the small-town magic, it was the perfect snapshot of Wyoming life.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the incredible people we worked alongside. A special shoutout goes to our General Manager, Glenda, and our Operations Manager, Byron — a fellow husband-and-wife workamping duo!  Thank you both for taking a chance on us — for trusting us, guiding us, and welcoming us into your team with open arms.  Your leadership, patience, humor, and friendship made this experience even richer. You showed us what it looks like to lead with integrity, compassion, and joy — and we’ll carry that with us wherever we go.  We’re truly honored to call you our friends.

Tomorrow, we’ll hit the highway — our little home on wheels heading west toward Las Vegas for a quick stop before we start making our way east to Tennessee for the winter. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye, but we leave here filled with gratitude for every person, every lesson, and every adventure God blessed us with in this wild and beautiful place.

This season reminded us that His plans are always perfect — even when they stretch us, surprise us, or lead us somewhere completely new. The Tetons will forever be part of our story, a backdrop to a season of growth, laughter, faith, and friendship.

One of our favorite moments - Hermitage Point

Here’s to new roads, new adventures, and continuing to follow wherever He leads. 🚐✨

I’ll close with a verse that God has been putting on my heart.

Isaiah 58:11 NKJV

“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”

Until next time…..keep joy in your mind and in your heart❣️

With love and gratitude,

Ali 🫶🏼✌🏼

Two Years Later: The Day Everything Changed — From Fear to Freedom

Yellowstone Lake May 2025   Two years later....my journey is my inspiration❣️ In the early hours of July 11, 2023—my 50th birthday—Keith took me to the ER. We didn’t know it then, but that day marked the beginning of a journey that would change everything. What we thought was a precautionary trip turned into a 10-day hospital stay, two emergency surgeries, and ultimately, the cancer diagnosis we never saw coming. It felt like the ground shifted beneath us—fast and without warning. That moment shook us to the core. But it also became the turning point. It led to one of the hardest and most personal decisions I’ve ever had to make: to decline chemotherapy. That choice didn’t come lightly—it came through tears, prayer, research, and a surrender I can’t quite explain. I opened my heart to God’s way of healing, and in doing so, found a peace that made no earthly sense but felt entirely divine. It’s hard to believe it’s been two years now since life threw us that curveball—a health scar...

Ain’t Life Grand….living life on the right side of cancer 💕

Greetings from beautiful Wyoming! Hidden Falls - Jenny Lake / Grand Teton National Park  A quick update before I get into it - I moved all my blogs to a new platform and it’s so much better now (at least for me).  Please let me know your thoughts, I appreciate your feedback 🩷.  Ok, here we go!!  Some of you may be following along on our journey via facebook but for those of you who aren’t, here’s a quick update.   We kicked off our nomadic journey on March 11, 2025 (after living full-time in the RV since September 2024) and this has quite literally been the best thing we have ever done.    Keith and I keep asking each other why we didn’t do this sooner.    It all comes back to - it just wasn’t our time yet.    But here we are now and we are absolutely living our best life!  Workamping is a real thing - real companies do in fact hire people who live full-time in their RV for seasonal work.    We landed an awesome job ...

From Blog to Book: Why I’m Sharing the Whole Story

For nearly two years, I’ve poured my heart into this blog—sharing pieces of my healing journey, my faith walk, and the unexpected turns that have shaped my life since being diagnosed with colon cancer. What started as a way to process and connect has grown into something much deeper: a calling to share the full story. So, I’m writing a book. This isn’t just a collection of blog posts. It’s a deeply personal, faith-rooted memoir that weaves together the physical, emotional, and spiritual layers of healing I’ve experienced. From chemo chairs to carrot juice, raw grief to relentless hope, the book will walk readers through the valleys and mountaintops of this path—from diagnosis to divine detours and everything in between. Why write a book? Because stories matter. Putting myself out there has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Every time I share a piece of my heart, I feel that familiar ache of vulnerability—like I’m standing open-handed before the world, unsure how my s...
